Culpeper Soccer Club Hires New Director of Coaching 

Josh Smith joins CSC as DOC.

Culpeper Soccer Club is excited to announce the hiring of Josh Smith as the club’s Director of Coaching.  Josh will direct the Travel Program as well as lead developmental programs, Camps and Academies.  CSC’s Travel Program competes in the Virginia Club Soccer League along with clubs from surrounding communities in Central Virginia and the Shenandoah.  As part of his role as DOC, Smith will coach two teams in CSC’s Travel Program and oversee player and coach development for the club.

Coach Smith brings significant experience to Culpeper.  He holds a US Soccer C license, USC Advanced National Goalkeeping License and a Special Topics Diploma from the USC.  Smith has over 10 years of experience coaching soccer at the club, high school and ODP levels.  Josh is a Culpeper native and CCHS graduate who played for Culpeper Soccer Club as a youth player.  Most recently, Smith has been employed as the Girls Director and Goalkeeping Director for the Fredericksburg Soccer Club.  Prior to that he worked as the Assistant Director of Coaching for Northern Piedmont Sports Club.  Smith has been on the VYSA State ODP staff since 2020.

“I have known Josh for many years. He is a Culpeper native and CCHS graduate who grew up playing in our local travel and high school programs. It has been a privilege to watch him develop from a youth player into a professional soccer coach.

Josh brings a wealth of knowledge to our club. We look forward to the expertise, encouragement, and fun he will provide our players to ensure their continued development.
